- How long will it take to recover from a breast reduction surgery? The exact recovery period will depend on the individual patient. Immediately following surgery, most patients experience soreness, swelling, and bruising, which will subside after several days. In most cases, physical activity should be limited for about two weeks after surgery.

The most common complications associated with breast reduction surgery are scarring, infection, bleeding and a partial loss of sensation in the breasts.
